Adapted from the eponymous novel by Ning Long, it tells the romantic love story of the reunion of the detective Jiang Chengyi and the anesthesiologist Lu Yan. Since the anesthesiologist Lu Yan (played by Sun Qian) “runs into” her dead college friend Deng Man (played by He Hongshan) during a night shift, strange things around her occur successively. As the investigation proceeds, the detective Jiang Chengyi (played by Johnny Huang), Lu Yan’s ex-boyfriend from many years ago, is embroiled in it, and the long-hidden truth of eight years is gradually revealed.
